Quickly Remove White Spaces in Dreamweaver After Pasting from Microsoft Word

    Share and Enjoy

If you use Dreamweaver a lot you’ll inevitably have to paste content in from Word or direct from your email client from time to time. UPDATE: Following requests for the tool to remove multiple empty lines in the code as well we have updated the command to do that.

Annoyingly, when you paste text in directly to Dreamweaver from either it adds multiple consecutive white spaces. In does this in multiple places and the white spacing can vary in amounts between 2 and 7 spaces each time.

How to Back Up Emails and Free Up Gmail Space in Windows Live Mail

      Share and Enjoy

There might come a time when you want to free up space on your Gmail account but keep a copy of the emails for future reference and this guide will show you how.

This is a follow on post for people who are using Windows Live Mail as their IMAP client for gmail.

If you are currently unsure which client you want to use then check out this post on why Windows Live Mail (WLM) is the best IMAP client to use with Gmail.
If you want to know to to set up WLM with IMAP for gmail then check out this post on how to make windows live mail the ultimate gmail imap client.

I like to keep copies of all my emails regardless of age but Gmail has a storage limit so it means having to clear it out regularly. There are some great 3rd party services you can use to back your mail up and store it online but accessing older emails is never really an urgent task so I use the cheaper and simpler method of just backing them up to a local machine which can be accessed as and when needed.

Just to restate in case you’re skimming this. This is not a solution for storing your old emails online to access from multiple locations. It’s just a great way of keeping a local copy of the emails and freeing up valuable space in your Gmail account.

DJCAD Web Design & SEO Competition 2012

        Share and Enjoy

DJCADLast year, in addition to setting up 2 annual scholarships and 2 annual awards worth £1000 for Angus College, we started our annual DJCAD Web Design & SEO Competition.

The competition is aimed at helping graduates launch their freelance careers or businesses.

The 2011 winner was Aime Bene, a textile and surface pattern designer. She received a logo design and business cards, a custom Facebook fan page, training and a custom website with a full content management system so she can update it herself easily.

This years prize is worth more than £2500 and entries close on Friday 30th March 2012.

Below are all the details about the competition but please get in touch using the comments at the bottom of the page if you have any questions.

The Process | Why We Do It | How We Judge | Who Can Enter | What You Win | How to Enter

          The Process

Just answer 10 simple questions about yourself (see How To Enter below). We then shortlist 3 applicants who are invited to interviews with us before we choose a winner.

          Why We Do It

As a company we like to ‘give back’ in a number of ways. One of them is to help graduates and young entrepreneurs launch their freelance careers and businesses.

Whilst we hope everyone who’s applying for jobs after they graduate the best of luck, this competition is intended to help support a graduate launch a business or their career as a freelance artist rather than use it as a portfolio site to find permanent employment.

Whilst helping a graduate secure a job would still be a worthy cause those embarking on a freelance career or setting up in business have so much to do to get started that we feel we can be so much more help to them in the long run.

          How We Judge

This competition is not about us judging which artist has the ‘best’ work. We know we’re not qualified to do that.

The process is intended to help us find a locally trained artist who:

          • Is passionate and committed to their idea/work/project/business longterm
          • Will consciously make the best use of the prize they receive from us
          • Will benefit the most from what we have to offer in terms of our services

Applicants will be shortlisted based on their: ambition, passion, originality, attitude, commitment, business plan and how much we think we can help support their plans.

Obviously how much our team members like the persons work itself will play a part in the decision making as we want to get behind work we beleive in but it’s not the most important factor for us. The person is.

          Who Can Enter

Any undergraduates or postgraduate who will finish their final course at Duncan of Jordanstone this year can apply.

The only stipulation is that applicants must be committed in attempting to start up their own business or work on a freelance basis aftter their graduation. Existing businesses or freelancers who already graduated this year (2012) may apply.

          What You Win

The winner will be able to choose any combination of the following services up to the value of the award (£2500):
